The Metro District will once again be conducting wildfire mitigation efforts within the Districts open space. These projects have been identified during the development of the Community Wildfire Protection Plan for the surrounding area and were designated as high priorities. This years project will begin this Fall (2014) and may continue into the winter in the following areas depending on weather:

• In Filing 3 of High Prairie Farms, east of Prairie Lake Trail and Fox Run Court along trail toward Bingham Lake
• Timbers Filing 22, North of S. Pinery Parkway between Nuthatch Circle and Towhee
• Timbers Filing 23 west of Fox Sparrow Rd. along the concrete trail and the north side of Timbers creek,

This is the fourth year of the Districts ongoing fire mitigation efforts and will take the areas identified as needing treatment within the District to about 75- 90% completion.

Mission Statement

HPFMD was established to provide a mechanism for efficiently financing, through the use of tax dollars, the maintenance of parks, open space, medians and assist Douglas County with snow removal, which facilitate and sustain the aesthetics and encourages the growth in the market values of the property in the District such as High Prairie Farms/Timbers Subdivisions.

History

High Prairie Farms Metropolitan District (HPFMD), a quasi-municipal corporation, was organized on May 5, 1986, and is governed pursuant to provisions of the Colorado Special District Act. The District was established to provide public services, including streets, safety protection, transportation and park and recreational facilities.
