RE: Community Update – State of Colorado Stay-At-Home Order
We wanted to provide the community an update regarding the use of parks and playgrounds in the High Prairie Farms and Timbers community in light of the state-wide Stay-at-Home order. On March 25, 2020, Governor Polis directed the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (the “CDPHE”) to issue Public Health Order 20-24 (the “Order”) and on March 26, 2020 CPDHE issued the updated order requiring all residents of the State of Colorado to stay-at-home to minimize the spread and impact of COVID-19. The Order mandates that all individuals stay in their place of residence except for certain essential activities.
This Order states that parks and other public outdoor spaces within the State of Colorado will remain open for activities such as walking, running, hiking, biking, and other similar activities. However, amenities such as playgrounds, restrooms, basketball courts, tennis courts, picnic areas, etc. will be closed. Those using parks and open-space must adhere to certain rules outlined in the Order.
In line with the CDPHE’s Order, parks and open spaces within the High Prairie Farms and Timbers community will remain open at this time, but park amenities will be closed. All those using the park must abide by the rules identified in the Order:
- Maintain a Social Distance of Six-Feet – When using the parks and outdoor spaces maintain a strict distance of six-feet between you and others using the park. Extreme social distancing from others in the park is required.
- Park Amenities are CLOSED – Playground and park equipment is closed. This includes all playgrounds, restrooms, basketball and other courts, benches, and picnic tables. Since these amenities are closed they are NOT being disinfected or sanitized.
- Gathering/Socialization – Social gatherings of individuals not living in the same residence are strictly prohibited. Individuals using the parks must maintain a distance of six-feet between themselves and all others using the park.
- Follow CDC Guidelines – Wash your hands regularly, avoid touching your face, if you are experiencing symptoms, stay home. Come to the park be prepared – bring hand sanitizer, gloves or other personal protective equipment, disinfecting wipes, etc.
